Foot Keyswitch for Piano

Objective:

Model a 15+ part assembly for the Design for Autodesk challenge. (The assembly was a mechanism for pressing a single piano key with a foot pedal.)

Skills and Tools Used:

  • Fusion 360

  • Assembly Modeling

Details:

This assembly was design as a basic mechanical concept for a Design for Autodesk program. It's essentially a pedal which actuates a single piano key.

The purpose of the contraption is to activate MIDI keyswitches in certain Kontakt instruments. A foot could be used to press the pedal while two hands play piano regularly. The footswitch would actuate a key which selects the type of articulation for sampled wind instruments.
