Google Co-op

In 2019, I completed a 5 month co-op in Google's Mountain View, CA headquarters. I worked primarily on engineering thermal solutions for head-worn AR/VR hardware within Daydream.

At Google I gained a deeper appreciation for analytical heat transfer/flow modelling as it pertains to consumer electronics. This analytical modeling is what was used to direct my numerical and experimental models and eventually propose thermal architectures to the relevant teams.

Some additional projects also included providing the mechanical CAD support for constructing lens geometry based on free form optical surfaces exported from optics CAD packages (CodeV, LightTools, Zemax, etc.), as well as assessing the structural deformations in an optical assembly under thermal loads.

The pictures to the left are just a few snapshots (from various presentations) of work I'm able to share externally.
